A View of an Abundant Life

Mrs. Emma May Lindsay was born in Prospect, Tennessee, to the late Thomas Andrew Garrett and Mary Lou Garrett on February 3, 1935.

Emma attended Poplar Hill and Aspen Hill public schools in Prospect, Tennessee and Bridgefort High School in Pulaski, Tennessee.  She resided in  Indianapolis for the majority of her life and was employed at RCA for many years.

Emma was united in holy matrimony to the late William “Sonny” Lindsay on July 19, 1963. To this union were born four children, Randall, Travis, Darlene, and Arlinda (affectionately known as Linda).

Emma professed her hope in Christ and declared Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She has been a member of Robinson Community AME Church and served as a Stewardess.

Emma was dedicated to her family, and her sweet personality brought smiles to many.  She loved to cook for family and friends and made sure there was more than enough food.  She was a die-hard fan of country music.   She also had a green thumb and loved flowers and plants.

Emma was an amazing, kind, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her and loved her.  Emma was preceded in death by her parents;  husband, William Lindsay; three brothers, Thomas Garrett, Oliver Garrett, Frank Garrett;  sister,  Lucille Garrett.

Emma went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 28, 2020. She has run the last mile; she has fought a good fight! She has made it and is now at peace and is free to live with the Lord!

Emma leaves to cherish her precious memory: beloved children,    Randall (Alicha) Lindsay, Travis Lindsay, Darlene Johnson, and Arlinda Lindsay;    grandchildren, Brandon (Katie) Lindsay, Chris (Ebony) Lindsay, Wesley     Johnson, William Johnson, Jacob Lindsay, Jennifer Thomas; sisters-in-law Mary Alice Garrett and Laura Wilson; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives; a very devoted caregiver, Loraine Hill, and cherished friends.
