Mary Virginia Rascoe Wilson departed this life on Monday, July 13, 2020 at the age of 90 years old.

Mary  was born November 23,1929 to Mary Magdalene and Monroe   Rascoe Sr. in Herndon, Kentucky.

Mary  accepted Christ at an early age she was bestowed with a gift of a Visionary and given the talent of a phenomenal artist with her hands and the ability to be a profound teacher.

Mary was an avid Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Early  Childhood Development Teacher, Women Leader, a youth leader, a creative artist who done many banners and posters etc. She also had an amazing artistry as a play writer and director and the creative skill and ability to make plays come to life.

Mary  was a Coordinator with the Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center for Seniors, known as The Recycle Teenagers in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mary  was known affectionately as “Patty” her childhood nickname, and those that knew her loved her peach cobbler, green bean casserole, hot water cornbread, and fried salmon, that only she could so perfect, and some others  dishes too the elegance of her presence her silver fox hair, she was the Queen of  leopard, orange and lime green decor and her many elephants will be missed.

Mary was called by God and loved by many and those that had the privilege to cross her path In this lifetime were blessed by her Mary was majestic, affectionate, radiant, and full of youthfulness. 

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Magdalene; father, Monroe Rascoe, Sr., aunt, Edna L. Herring, brothers, Ronald Rascoe and Monroe Rascoe, daughter, Sandra “Dinky” Ligon-Bonds; and sister, Susie Gamble-Adams.

Mary  leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Deacon Robert L. Wilson, Sr. and he fondly called her (His Mary,His Baby), daughters, Joyce Randolph (Walter) and their children, Donte and Eric, Pamela Quarles and her children, Tracey, Nicole, and Cecily, Vanessa Quarles, and her children, Deanna and Cha Cha Abu Ukweli Amana of Atlanta, Georgia, Jacqueline “Jackie” Childs (Samuel, Sr.) and their children, Samuel, Jr., Jonathon, Jordan, and Jonas, son,  David Ligon (Katrina) of Atlanta, Georgia and their children, Ebony, Erica, Shantee, Ashley, Robbi, and Kaleb, stepchildren, Valerie Morris, Deanna Alston (Ronald), Diana Quarles (Ronnie), Keily Hill (Keith), Catherine Wilson, Rodney Wilson, and Robert Wilson, Jr. and host of great-grands, great-great-grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

The Watts Family (Kathy, Tony, Sierra & Bianca) send our condolences to the family in the passing of Mother Golston-Wilson.

We will always cherish the loving and humbling way she cared for us and always called us her other children. She had a way of making everyone that she came in contact with feel very special.

I thank God for the wisdom, knowledge and example that Sister Wilson gave to me through out my Christian journey. She was a classy Christian lady willing and ready to lead in the right direction. Family thank you for sharing her with the Pilgrim family.
