Mary Farmer was born on May 27, 1931 in Arberdeen, Mississippi.

Mary graduated from Froebel High School and was first graduate of Lovell’s Barber College in Gary, Indiana.  She received Associate’s degree in Religious Studies. She also received  her Evangelist license from Triumph The Church and Kingdom of God In Christ. She became a Christian Evangelist speaking at various churches in the city.

Mary was known for her joyful laugh, beautiful smile and being a “stand her ground” Lady Barber for over 40 years.  She owned her Barbershop for many years and later worked as head barber at Ruck’s Barber Shop and Steel Workers Barbershop.

Mary went to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the age of eighty-nine years old.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Willie J. Farme; mother, Ann (Ford) Harris and step-father, Robert L. Harris.

She leaves to mourn her passing her sister, Paulette Harris-Spicer; brother-in-law, Pedro Spicer; nephew, Chaz Alexander Spicer; niece, Chavez Harris Spicer, all of Indianapolis, Indiana; cousins, Carol Exford and Michelle Johnson; best Friend, Mrs. Glenda Richmond; her Loving Triumph Church family including Mother Jennie Johnson and Mother Juanita Turner and a host of friends and loved ones.
