Phyllis Lynnette Williams, daughter of James Calvin Battle and Bernice Bowden Battle, was born June 19, 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

 

Phyllis received her education in the Indianapolis Public School System, attending #45 and #101. She graduated from Arsenal Tech High School. She also attended Clark College and Ivy Tech.

 

Phyllis professed her life to Christ at an early age by being baptized. She was an active member in the community was a faithful member of Greater Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.

 

Lynn as she was affectionately called by loved ones and friends, loved singing and was a member of the Carlton Chaney Singers. She also loved cooking and was an avid house cleaner. She loved being with her    family and helping others.

 

Phyllis was employed by the St. Vincent Hospital System.  There she was both loved and respected by her co-workers,

 

Phyllis Lynnette Williams departed this life on Saturday, November 30, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Calvin Battle and Bernice Battle; five brothers, Jimmie, Marvin, Robert, Gregory and Tony Battle; and her only child, Chawntell M. Williams.

 

Phyllis leaves to cherish her memories her grandson, Davion Williams; her brothers, Charles Battle, Dale Battle and Frank Mason; her sisters, Stephanie Carnell and Tracey Battle; her favorite cousin, Pamela Ford; her cousins, Steven Hooks and Nathan Ford Jr.; nine nieces and nephews, thirty-six grand nieces and grand nephews, twenty-three great great-nieces and great-great nephews, a host of other relatives, church family and many friends.
