Mrs. Ossie Marshall Garrett was born October 14, 1932, in Columbus, Georgia to Mr. Austin Marshall and Ruth Whatley. After graduating from High School she married and relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1950.

She worked for Wm H. Ossie enjoyed watching all the sports, basketball, football etc.  She also like music, dancing, cooking, helping others and caring for her grandchildren.  She would take long walks for her health and enjoyed it very much.

When you’d have talks with her she’d let you know some people need to have someone special they can talk about things with and “smiled” that beautiful smile.

“Monie Ossie” truly loved being in the presence of family and friends.

Ossie was a loving mother to all five of her children Sondra, Gregory, Sherrice, Genice and Gerald, she will truly be missed.  She touched the lives of those to numerous to mention; toward the end of her journey her middle daughter, Sherrice moved in her home to care for her and gave up her own personal plans to care for her Mother.

I am sorry about your Mom transitioning from this world into another. She will be missed so much. I know all of you are sad and I am too. But we must remember when God has a plan nothing can Slow it down, Speed it up, or Stop it.
I love you all and I pray that God strengthens and comforts you to accept his decision, and to understand, in all things God knows best.
