Marvin Clay Wilkerson II was born September 1, 1978 in Indianapolis Indiana to the union of Edna Sims and Marvin Wilkerson. He departed this life at 12:25 p.m. on June 29, 2014 at Indiana University Health Hospital.

Marvin grew up in Indianapolis Indiana and graduated from Cardinal Ritter High School. He received an Electronic Systems Technical Degree from Lincoln Technical Institute, furthering his pursuit of education at Ivy Tech College and Indiana University- Purdue University (IUPUI).

Marvin was previously employed by DAMAR Services and at the time of his death he was employed at Valle Vista Health System, where he was privileged to have so many good, loyal and loving co-workers and friends.

Marvin enjoyed music, spending time on his computer, grilling and most of all being with his family. He was always quick to help and be available for family and friends in need.

If one were to ask Marvin what were the happiest moments of his life; he certainly would respond being with his children; Olivia and Jordan. His life revolved around spending time with them and seeing them happy and creating memories of their precious time spent together. His family and many friends recognized and complimented him for his attentiveness, affection and love for his children.

Marvin’s family affectionately referred to him as “Chip”. He was adored by his family as he was with his many friends.  All who have been touched by Chip’s life now find comfort in the knowledge that, because of who he is and Whose he is, we know where he is now….resting  in the arms of God.

Marvin professed his hope in Christ and was baptized March 9, 1986 at Mt. Paran Missionary Baptist church. And so we pray that the angels, -as they keep their watch above- let him know we will never ever forget him- and how much we love him so.

Marvin was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Roy Clark Wilkerson Sr. and Zetta Mae Wilkerson, maternal grandparents, William H. Senour, Era L. Evans and Emerson Johnson.

Marvin Clay “Chip” Wilkerson II,  leaves to cherish his memory and honor his legacy, his loving children, daughter, Olivia Wilkerson and son, Jordan Wilkerson, wife, Amanda Wilkerson, father, Marvin Wilkerson Sr. (Diana), mother, Edna Sims (Rodney); sister, Marvette Washington (James),  step-sisters, Candra  and Cicely Sims; grandmother, (Nanny) Edna Senour; niece, Keaira Wilkerson; nephew, “Big” Jordan Wilkerson; great nephew, Ian Kenewa.  Special friend Terri Lyons, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and a wide circle of friends.

May you find strength in God as you face this difficult time in your life's. Often there are no good reasons why children pass before parents but knowing that Marvin is in a better place provides some comfort.
