Mrs. Bettie L. Blakemore Johnson  the daughter of Moses Daniel Blakemore and Sarah Della Banks Blakemore was born October 1, 1928 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Bettie was the youngest of six children. 
She attended school #26 and Crispus Attucks High School. 
Bettie met and fell in love with her one and only sweet heart at the age of fourteen Alonzo Earnest Johnson aka Pookie Johnson, they were married on March 9, 1945. 
Bettie was the mother of six children, Alonzo Wayne Johnson (Butch), Roger Curtis Brittain (Beth), Stephanie Elaine Johnson Stallard, Eric Daniel Johnson, Kevin Bruce Johnson (Arnold Stewart) and Byron Lynn  Johnson (Karen), Alonzo (Butch) and Eric preceded her in death. 
Bettie worked as a computer programmer at the Fort Benjamin Harrison Finance & Accounting Center for thirty years. 
She was also an artist who loved painting, Macrame, knitting and crocheting.  She also loved puzzles and word games and playing cards, which was something she did at the end of her life to keep herself busy.  She was a great dancer until she lost the use of her legs in 2005.  she was also a great cook, of course Jazz was of most importance in her life  and to travel.
Bettie Louise Blakemore Johnson, 84 passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012. She lived a rich and full life. She will be loved and never forgotten by her family and the many lives that she touched.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.

To Kevin Johnson and Family: My prayers are with you and your family and friends at this sad time.

God shall wipe away all tears (Rev. 21) was my comfort last year when I went through it. It shall be yours as well.
