Roxanne McClung the youngest child of Lester Odell McClung Sr. and Audrey Suzanne Currin McClung, was born October 4, 1967 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her parents preceded her in death.
Roxanne attended the Metropolitan School District of Pike Township. Graduating from Pike High School with a certificate of recognition for distinguished accomplishment in Cooperative Office Education. She also attended Indiana Business College where she earned her Associate Degree in Secretarial Administration. She also completed some courses at IUPUI. After losing her sight, she enrolled in online classes with The Hadley School for the Blind.
At an early age Roxanne accepted Christ and was baptized by Rev. T.T. Newman at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She attended Sunday School and vacation bible school and loved singing in the youth choir. In 2015 Roxanne became a member of The Traders Point Church of Christ where she was a member until her passing.
Roxanne worked for the State of Indiana in the capacity of which she earned her degree. She also worked for Brylane part-time.
Roxanne loved traveling and always looked forward to family vacations. One of her most favorite and memorable trips was to Hawaii.
When Roxanne lost her sight, she attended Bosma where she received mobility training on how to maneuver in the kitchen and cook, which she did very well. Also, she had computer technology training. Roxanne did so well with her training that upon completing her training she stayed to assist with teaching others.
Though Roxanne lost her sight in her adult years it did not stop her from doing what she loved. She would cook and try new recipes. She loved to shop and find bargain deals. She enjoyed reading her braille bible. She loved going to church when possible and listening to her audio books. Rozanne showed her nieces and nephews how she read in braille and how to play piano and just to enjoy life no matter the circumstances.
Roxanne departed this life on February 18, 2021 at the age of 53 years, 14 months, and 14 days.
To mourn her passing into eternal peace she leaves behind her sister, Donnetta C. Blow; her brother, Lester O. McClung Jr. and a host of family members and friends.
