Lamont Deshawn Steward was born July 6, 1974 in Louisville, Kentucky to Ferola Elizabeth Johnson Steward and John Howard Steward. Lamont lost his mother at age 13. His Daddy lovingly struggled to raise an overactive, mischievous, and fearless kid to adulthood. He had much love and support from Lamont’s older sister Brenda Johnson Hood, his Aunts Lilllian Horton Woodson, Eula “Sissy” Steward, his “temporary parents” Phillip and Deborah Upton Rhodes along with countless others.
After graduation from Moore High School Lamont moved to Cincinnati with his Aunt Susan Upton Farley. He finally went to work with Cousin Donnie for Ogelesby and Hug Construction. He worked there for 21 years (until his death) all over the states of Ohio and West Virginia.
He was active with his Masonic Mosaic Lodge 25, Winchester, Kentucky and Ismid Temple110, Lexington, Kentucky.
Lamont quietly went about his business creating his own unique relationships along the way. Life and circumstances gave him sisters: Lindsey and Latacha Rhodes; brothers: Big P, J.R., D.J. and a whole work family. He would softly show up to address any family problems rather real or perceived, rather financial or emotional. He never lost that boyish grin that signaled he was about to start something or had already done it. His favorite expression “Hot D_ _ _. Party Over” was often bellowed with that same grin.
Lamont was gifted a bonus son, Aeneas Dock, from a previous marriage.
His final chapter was his best chapter. He moved to Indianapolis. Lindsey introduced him to Pam and love was set in motion. He married and loved Pamela Fisher.
Pam fulfilled his lifelong desires with her love and the births of their daughter LaNeah Elizabeth and son Lamont Deshawn, Jr. This marriage also gifted him bonus children; Darielle Alexia, Tyrik Darion, Darshay Chanell, and Cheyenne Faith.
Lamont and Pam built a new life and a new house where he was only able to spend a few nights before his death.
In addition, Lamont leaves to Cherish is Memory, His Father John Steward. 3 brothers: John, Jr., Tony Jones, and Gregory Brooks; 6 sisters: Brenda, Robin (Alfonzo), Darlene (Daniel), Tweety, Maya, Cheryl (Dana), Terri (deceased), 4 Aunts: Mary “Pete” Hampton, Charlene (Fred) Shackelford, Eula Steward, Lillian Horton Woodson. 2 Uncles: David (Anna) Steward, Carl Steward 2 uncles who proceeded him in death James “Fat man” Steward and Floyd Mac Gay, Galvester and Nicki Tanner (In-Laws) A Host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
