Michelle Yvonne Mosley was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on December 6, 1963.

Michelle accepted Christ and joined Greater St Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana.

On August 2, 1997 Michelle was united in marriage to the love of her life, Lionel (Train) Johnson until he preceded her in death on December 7, 2004.

Michelle was a vibrant, beautiful and genuine young lady that had a flare for fashion.  Whenever you saw Michelle, she was dressed to the “T” in her heel, like a “DIVA” and known to her family and friends as a true fashionista!  Her love and skill for fashion started early so she decided to attend Design School and graduated with an Associate Degree.  Michelle also attended Real Estate School and became a Licensed Realtor. Michelle worked for Brylane for over 15 years as a Quality Assurance lead and worked at JD Byrider for 7 years as an Account Manager.

Michelle will always be remembered for her great big beautiful smile and be known for one of the first women to wear a black wedding dress….YES, black wedding dress!!

A lot of people did not know that Michelle had a great love for amusement parks, zip lines, any ride that was daring, she loved it!  Michelle also had a great love for travel, especially cruising. Michelle would make sure to visit her sister, Carolyn, in most of the places she was stationed with her family. On one of those visits they got to enjoy Paris with their sister, Joann as well. Michelle was known to collect magnets to all the many places she would travel which included: Germany, France, Jamaica, Belize, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda just to name a few.  When her brother-in-law Rufus passed, she coveted and embodied his saying “Life is Good”!!

Michelle had much LOVE for her “Gurl’s”, you know who you are…..

Michelle’s pride and joy, her only son, recently married the love of his life and she was the most beautiful and beaming mother of the groom.  She was looking forward to being an amazing “Glam-ma”.

Michelle’s parents her mother, Jessie Deloris Russell Ross (Dee); father, James (Jimmy) Ross; her birth father, Timothy Mosley; and sister, Mary Jean Nelson-Harrington all preceded her in death.

Michelle leaves to cherish her memory her son, Courtney James Brooks (Theron; sisters, Carolyn Branson (Johnny), Sherry Mosley, Joann Ross-Radford (Leonard), Terrina Ross-Jordan (Michael) and  Ramona Moore; brothers,  James Ross Jr. (Bernetta), Lawrence Ross (Alfreda), Darryl Ross and Dennis Ross; nieces and nephews, Cynthia (Huey) Tamika, Niesha, Serria, Marketa, Latonya, Cedric (Heather), Lamont, Keith, and Darrius (just to name a few), multiple great-nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

To the Family of Mrs. Michelle Mosley

Dearly Beloved,

It is with heartfelt regret that we must offer condolences for one so loved, yet without regret that God has gathered her to His bosom. Her days of sorrow, pain, and discomfort have ended. We know that God chose this time for Michelle to join Him, but that does not make this any easier. Your loved one will be truly missed.

In this unhappy hour, we are reminded of the book of John, which states: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life; and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” (John 5:24)
These words are offered to your family, as we hope they will bring comfort to you.

We must console ourselves with the knowledge that she is walking with our Lord. As for us, now more than ever, know that you are always in our prayers.

With Deepest Sympathies,
425th Reunion Group

I only knew you for a little while but you made a lasting impression on all of us. You demonstrated sisterly love in her everyday interactions with Carolyn. One night wonder if she was Mechelle's mother, best friend or sister. My conclusion is all of the above. Mechelle managed to demonstrate just who she was born to be upon first sight.
When deciding on a flower garden she tend to pick the most beautiful and meaningful flower. My God as done just that. He choose a beautiful bud that blossomed and left an impression in all our thoughts. Sleep well my angel. Sleep well. 💃
