Harold Joseph “JoJo” Edwards, the son of Barbara Jean Edwards and Joseph Harold Davis, was born on May 28, 1975 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He was raised by both of his parents until their split at the age of 14.

“JoJo”, or Joe” as he became known called when he was older, graduated from Emmerich Manual High School, in 1994.  He was the athlete of the family, admitted by his oldest brother,  Tim.  JoJo played basketball, football, soccer, baseball and any other sport that had a ball in it.  Joe was very competitive and did not like to lose in anything.  He hated especially losing to his brother.

JoJo was reborn in Christ at Sunrise Missionary at the age of 40, and was a changed man.  He was a man of his word and would tell you the truth always.  He spoke to his boys all the time about being “Edwards men”, to stand upright with God and to take care of their Mother.

Jojo LOVED to see his children do anything.  One of the proudest days of his life, other than them being born, was when his son, JaiQuan, and nephew, Tyran, won the IHSAA State Basketball Championship for Crispus Attucks High School.  He loved to see JaiShaun cook for him.  He got the cooking gene from his grandfather Harold.  JaiShaun would cook for him all the time.

JoJo was loved by all his friends.  He had an infectious laugh that would get everybody else rolling also. He would tell you off in a minute though.  He loved his daughters, sons and grandchildren.  He was loved by his family.  He was loved by his friends.  His story was that of pain, but he would not let you feel sorry for him. He was a man of Character.  He was a man of Courage.  He was a man of Strength.  He was a man of Love.  He gave his children his all.

JoJo married the love of his life, Mary “Charlett” Lewis, on August 5, 2016.  This was a joyous day for him.  They have four children that will miss him dearly.

Mr. Harold Joseph Edwards departed this life on Monday, September 25, 2017, at the age of forty-two years three months and twenty-seven days.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Diona L. Edwards.

He is survived by his wife, Mary “Charlett” Lewis-Edwards; daughters, Teaisha and Taleesha; sons, JaiQuan and JaiShaun; six grandchildren; brother,   Timothy (April) Edwards; many nephews and nieces, cousins, aunt, Elaine (Michael) Tardy, a host of other aunts and uncles, other relatives and friends.
