Alene Joann Phelps Wilson, 78, of Indianapolis, passed away on December 4, 2011.   She was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late Charles and Ollie Phelps. 
She was a graduate of Crispus Attucks High School and attended Indiana University in Indianapolis.  
Alene was employed by Indiana Bell (AT&T) (Ameritech) for 36 years, retiring in a Management Position as a Staff Associate. She was a lifelong member of St. Rita Catholic Church. Other affiliations include Knights and Ladies of St. Peter Claver, Christ the King Court #97, Indianapolis Chapter of the National Drifters, Inc., Quettes, and Browsers Book Club. 
Her passion and hobby of creating miniature doll houses led to her development of the business enterprise, “abc miniatures”.
Alene is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Wilson Tyler (Gary) and son, Terry Wilson; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Wilson and her great grandson Jordon Lee Tyler.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 9, 2011 from 4pm until 7pm at Stuart Mortuary and on Saturday from 10-12pm at the church. The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 12:00 noon at St. Rita Catholic Church, 1733 Rev. Dr. Andrew J. Brown Avenue. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita Catholic Church.
