Her Life Story

     Mrs. Bobbie Mae Walker was born on May 14, 1940, in Canton, Mississippi, to Allie Lee Bennett and Robert Coleman Chaney. Bobbie was the oldest of two children born to this union.

     Bobbie received her education in Mississippi, graduating from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Canton, Mississippi.

August 29, 1958, Bobbie united in Holy Matrimony to James Luther Walker. To this union, five children were born.

          Bobbie left Canton, Mississippi to move to Chicago, Illinois with her       husband until 1970, when they made their home in Indianapolis, Indiana.

     Bobbie and her family united with Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until she became ill.

     Bobbie was a homemaker, ensuring that her home was a haven for her family and her friends. Whenever you met Bobbie, you met a friend for life. During her life, Bobbie was an Avon representative, an active participant in her daughters bowling league and everyone’s babysitter

          Bobbie was a kind, gentle, loving person who would give you her last. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and an awesome grandmother and great-grandmother. No one was a stranger to Bobbie. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

 Bobbie  departed her earthly home for her eternal home on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at the age of 80 years, 3 months, 26 days.

          Bobbie  was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Coleman Chaney and  Allie Lee Bennett, her devoted husband of 31 years, James Luther Walker, and her baby brother, Lawrence Coleman “Sonny” Chaney.

          Bobbie  is survived by her children, Beverly Walker, James Walker (Andril), Lawrence Walker, Belinda Day (Joseph) and Eric Walker (Joi);
sister-in-love, Gladys Chaney; brothers-in-love, W.E. and Hillie B. Walker;
grandchildren, Alecia, Ronna, Justin, Joshua, Ronald III, Devante', Dakota, Brandy, Erykah, Elijah, Erik James, Sydney, Jaedyn and Judah; great-grandchildren, Justin, Jr., Harmony, Amaya, Ronald IV, Alivia, Love, Aaliyah, Raina, Lamadele, Royal, Royalty, Venus; nieces and nephews, Denise Chaney, Tracey Chaney, Rhonda Hatchett, Robert Chaney and Yolanda   Osborne; extended family, the Chaney’s, the Conway’s, the Walkers and  many  other family member and  friends.

We all loved Bobbie , but God loved her best.

Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely GOODNESS AND MERCY shall follow me all of the days of my life,

And I will DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD, FOREVER.
