Her Life Story
Yvonne Louise Hooten Meyers, the daughter of Eugene Hooten and Mary Walker Hooten was born on February 16, 1955, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Bonnie as she was affectionately known as professed her love for Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Eastside Baptist and later became a member at Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist Church in her teenage years.
Bonnie attended Indianapolis Public Schools and graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1973.
Bonnie was a hard worker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She retired from Diamond Chain Co., after 35 years.
Bonnie loved spending time with her family and friends; but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. No matter how Bonnie was feeling she would always make her way to church. She found solace being in the house of the Lord. Bonnie loved to travel and meet new people. She also enjoyed solving crossroad puzzles in her spare time.
Bonnie departed this life on Monday April 8, 2024, at the age of sixty-nine years old. Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Hooten Sr.; brother, Jeffrey Hooten; sister, Wanda Hooten; nephew, Gregory Nunally; and her husband James Meyers Jr
Bonnie is survived by her mother, Mary Hooten; one son, Deman Hooten (April); three granddaughters, Courtney Holland, Daija Hooten and Destiney Hooten; seven great-grandchildren, Quortny Holland, Marcus Yates, Tracee Yates, King Ash, Royalty Hooten, Sevyn Bell and Jealousy Johnson; three brothers, Eugene Hooten Jr., Michael Hooten (Kim) and Corey Hooten; one sister, Tracy Hooten-Ingram, a host of nieces and nephews and special brother-in-law, Henry Ingram, her church family and friends.
