Willie Manuel, son of the late Jessie and Beulah Manuel, was born September 3, 1943, in Gould, Arkansas. Willie Manuel graduated from W.M.O. Fields High School in Gould, Arkansas. He enlisted to serve in the United States Army, where he served our country during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1968.
After the military service, Willie Manuel moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he worked at the General Motors Corporation. He moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, and worked as a cab driver. He retired after employment at Carrier.
Many who knew Willie Manuel called him, “Sweet Willie” or “Brother”. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and family gatherings.
On Wednesday, September 21, 2022, God called our beloved Willie Manuel home. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jessie Manuel, Jr., Frenchman Cooper, and Nolan Norman, and five sisters, Annie Mae Burton, Ora Lee Grimes, Lena Mae Dale, Dorothy Williams and Bessie Brown.
Willie Manuel leaves to cherish his memories two sisters, Freddie Yager and Rubbie Millbrook; one brother, Havis Manuel, a host of nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends.
