WILLIAM LEE, JR. Obituary

William Lee Jr., was born on August 3, 1933, in Crescent City, Florida, to the late William Lee Sr (Pinky) and Clara Lucile Lovell.  William lived a life defined by service, dedication, and perseverance. In 1951, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy and served honorably until his discharge in 1955. During his military service, he earned three medals and was also an accomplished boxer, displaying the discipline and determination that would characterize his life.

In 1959, William moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where he established roots and built a lasting legacy. In 1960, he completed barber school, demonstrating his commitment to personal growth and professional development. He later spent many years employed as a truck driver with Transcon, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dependability.

William was a devoted husband, father, and family man. He shared a marriage with his wife, Carolyn Lee, and cherished the many relationships that enriched his life. He was also a faithful member of Good Shepherd Missionary Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and spiritual guidance.

William Lee Jr., 92, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026. He was preceded in death by his sons, Silas Lee and Benjamin Lee.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn Lee; his sons, Andretti Lee and William B. Lee; bonus children, Karen Coleman, Bennie Irvin, Shonika Highbaugh (Clarence), and Shontel Calvert (James); 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

William’s life was marked by honorable service to his country, dedication to his profession, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy of strength, faith, and perseverance will continue to live on through all who had the privilege of knowing him.
