Mr. William Joseph King III was born on April 29, 1960, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late William King Jr. and Elizabeth Lake King.
His educational journey began in Indianapolis Public Schools and concluded with his graduation from Crispus Attucks High School. From a young age, William's faith in Christ was professed at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church where he was baptized. He later became a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church alongside his mother, brothers, and sisters.
Known as “Billy” to everyone who knew him, William had a gift for cracking jokes and bringing laughter to those around him. His infectious sense of humor brightened the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. While his love for his family was evident, there were two cousins, Kent Collins, and Lance Howard, who held an exceptional place in his heart.
William passed away on August 22, 2023, at the age of sixty-three years old, marking the end of his earthly journey. In his departure, he reunites with his parents and siblings who have gone before him: Darvin King, Eric King, Kevin King, and Robbie Hudgins. Also, preceding him in death is his sister, Roseann Hudgins-Herron, along with his brother-in-law, Andrew McMitchell. While he may no longer be present among us, William leaves behind treasured memories that will forever reside in the hearts of those who held him dear. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to serve as a source of comfort and remembrance for all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
He leaves to cherish his daughter, Brandi Williams (Kyle); grandson, Brandon Hollins; stepmother, Patricia Barbee King; siblings, Reginald King Williams, Bonita Gupton, Brenda McMitchell, Byron King (Theresa), Denise Bryant (Carson), Janice Blair, Tracy Logwood (Raymond), Marcus King, Ronnie King, Angelia Watkins, and Shelly Hudgins; two in-laws, Terry King and William Herron; two loving aunts, Mary Jackson and Gladys King, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
