VIVIAN HAYNES Obituary

Vivian A. Haynes, age 75, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully of May 26, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Born on September 10, 1949 in Gary, Indiana, she was the eldest child of the late Willie Robinson. Vivian was a graduate of Froebel High School and carried the values of hard work and kindness throughout her life.

She lived a life rooted in compassion, faith, and quiet strength. Vivian dedicated years to the caring for others as a Registered Nurse in the Indianapolis Public School System. Known for her gentle demeanor, meticulous care, and unwavering professionalism, she was a steady, calming presence to the many students, parents, and colleagues whose lives she touched. Her dedication made her not just a nurse, but at trusted advocate for children’s health and well-being.

Vivian was married to the love of her life, Foster Haynes, for over forty years. Together, the built a life of devotion, warmth and shared purpose. She was a loving and nurturing mother to their daughter, who survived her and will carry forward her legacy of grace and strength.

Outside of her career and family, Vivian found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid viewer of classic television and loved exploring new foods, a reflection of her curious and open-hearted spirit. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted and active member of Saint Lawrence Catholic Church, where she worshipped for many years with humility and reverence.

Vivian is survived by her cherished daughter; her loving brother, Larry (Juanita) Robinson; one nephew Larry Robinson, and cousins and extended family. She will be missed deeply by her longtime friends, Pack Craig, Jr. and Dave Phillips.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kim Robinson, who surely welcomed her home.
