Ms. Veronica D. Parker was born on October 24, 1949, to David L. Brown and Allie L. (Brown) Spaulding in Indianapolis, Indiana. She attended Indianapolis public schools during her primary grade school years. She then attended Crispus Attucks High School for her secondary education.
Veronica worked for the Indianapolis Public School System as a paraprofessional. She enjoyed helping her young students learn to read and write. Most fulfilling to her was watching her students grow and develop for their next level of education.
Veronica was a member of Martindale Church of Christ for many years.
She belonged to a very large family who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her mother, Allie L. Spaulding; father, David L. Brown; brothers, David L. Brown, Edwin L. Brown, Derek L. Spaulding, Daniel Thompson, Duane Thompson, Tyrone Thompson, Derrick Thompson, and John Thompson; sisters, Marietha C. Gaddie, Robin P. Maritn and Theresa Thompson; her sons, Michael Parker and Marcus Parker; grandchildren, LeShawn Parker and Sabien Parker; and her life-long friend, John McAfee.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Venus Savoy (Eric), Jarvis Parker, and Dacia Crump; grandchildren, Latavia, Michael, Maurice, Charon, Darrius, James, Jason, Brandice, ShaQuita, Jacary, Samuel, Ashakai, Cynthia, Marcus, Jr., and Donte’; over fifty great-grandchildren; brothers, Iran Brown, William S. Brown (Kathy), Fredrick Brown (Sandra), Cornelius Martin, Charles Spaulding (Rhonda), Nino Spaulding, William Brown, Wayman Miles, and Larry Thompson; sisters, Brenda Brown Hobbs, Patricia Johnson, Sandra Smith (Willie), Cordia Thompson, Iwanad Gould (Louis) and Melanie Spaulding; uncle, Curtis Childress (Mary); aunt, Santha Howard, a host of nieces and nephews, many cousins and a host of friends.
