Twymon Meals, Jr. was born on March 23, 1955, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late John Twymon Meals, Sr. and Irene Outlaw.
He was educated in the Indianapolis Public School system, attending IPS School #73 and Arlington High School. Twymon proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1975. Following his military service, he returned home to Indianapolis and began a long and faithful career with Indianapolis Public Schools at Crispus Attucks High School, where he served as Head Custodian. Known for his dedication, reliability, and quiet leadership, Twymon retired in 2018 after more than 38 years of committed service.
On July 24, 2006, he married his soulmate, Dorothy Davis. Together, they blended their families and shared nearly 20 years of love, partnership, and unwavering companionship.
Twymon will be fondly remembered for his love of fishing, hunting, and grilling. He was a devoted fan of the Indianapolis Colts and found great joy in spending time with family and friends, especially during lively card games accompanied by blues and jazz music. Twymon’s legacy is one of service, loyalty and love. A life well lived and deeply cherished.
On Monday, December 15, 2025, Twymon Meals, Jr. transitioned peacefully from this earthly life at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his father, three brothers, and his beloved granddaughter, Kenyatta Davis.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Dorothy Meals; mother, Irene Outlaw; son, Quenten Davis; daughters, Elisa Davis Taylor (Michael) and Tena Cox (James); brothers, Rodney, Kevin, and Stevie Meals; sisters, Juana Meals, Debra Meals, and Teresa Davis; brothers-in-law, Sammie and Melvin Murphy; sisters-in-law, Johnnie Mae Huddleston and Earnestine Murphy of New York; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunt, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
