Travis Eugene Harriel, the son of the late Johnny E. Harriel and Betty Jean Moore Harriel, was born August 3, 1960, in St. Louis, Missouri. Travis was the second youngest of his five siblings. He had two brothers and has two sisters.
Travis moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1968. He professed his hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Emmanuel C. M. E. Church under the leadership of Rev. O'Neal Shyne,Sr.
Travis attended and completed his primary and secondary education in the Indianapolis Public School System. He graduated from Northwest High School.
Travis served in the National Guard. Travis worked various jobs throughout his life. He worked security at Cowboys, Picadilly’s and TNT. He also was an over-the-road driver at Napa Auto Parts until he retired.
Travis affectionately known as “Bounce” adored his family, especially his children and grandson. Before his illness, he was full of energy. Travis was a bike specialist and a master motorcycle mechanic, he also loved to race motorcycles. He was an Honorary Member of Indypendents M. C. Travis was the Co-Chair with IBU (Indiana Bikers Union) from 2012 to 2015. He was the founder of the Bounce Out of Town Ride, which was created in September of 2012.
He enjoyed playing several instruments. In his early years he played the bass for a band called New Horizon. Travis absolutely had passion and love for bowling. Travis loved spending time with his grandson De’Veion. He also kept a clean, stankin’ Lincoln.
Travis departed his life on November 29, 2021. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; two brothers; and nephew, Darius Harriel.
Travis leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Erica and Sydney Harriel; one son, Travis (Li’l Travis) Harriel; one grandson, De’Veion; two sisters, Lillie Carolyn Harriel of St. Louis, Missouri and Jeannette Miller and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
