SUSAN BAKER Obituary

Susan was born on November 12, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Samuel Lloyd and Mary Neil Reid. She attended schools #41 and #42 and graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1962.

Susan had a fulfilling career at Eli Lilly and Company, where she worked as a clinical trial specialist for 30 years. Her dedication and expertise in her field were highly regarded by her colleagues and the medical community. After retiring from Eli Lilly, Susan embarked on a second career at Nordstrom, which she considered her dream job. Susan loved interacting with people and helping them with their purchase decisions. For her, Nordstrom was more than just a job; it was her calling.

Susan's dedication to her customers was unparalleled. She served them in many ways, and they became like family to her. Her customers were loyal and would often return only when Susan was working. Her passion for retail was evident, as she was the only employee at the Nordstrom Indianapolis stores to ever achieve the prestigious Gold All-Star Award 7 times, an accomplishment of which she was immensely proud.

Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, and she will be remembered for her unwavering commitment to helping others.

Susan's legacy of kindness, dedication, and passion will be remembered by all who knew her. She leaves behind a loving family and a community that will forever cherish her memory.

Susan is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Leroy “Ducky” Baker; daughter, Sharon (Fred) Long; son, Curtis Bebley, and twins, Terri (Minister Nuri) Muhammad, and Jerry Muhammad; bonus daughters and sons, Lillian Baker, Michael (Lisa) Baker, Jacqueline Ann Franklin, Marsha Lee Baker-Conley, and Terrell Kent (Paula) Hawkins Sr. and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
