STANLEY WORD, JR.

Stanley Word, Jr. 77, died July 14, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Stanley was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Word, Sr. and his mother, Katherine Morrow Word.

Stanley was retired, but he held many positions of employment during his time. Stanley worked in the housekeeping and dietary departments of Indianapolis hospitals and also worked at the Central Soya Company, Indianapolis in the late 1970’s.

He enjoyed reading, fishing, bike riding, watching sports on TV, and attending church, as well as offering his services whenever needed.

Stanley was a member of Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Assembly, Indianapolis IN, for many years.

Stanley's memory is cherished by his children, Marlon Word, Terryce Word, Michael Word, and Kristina Word, 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Shirley Whitney, Indianapolis, Marcella Williams, Cumberland, KY, a host of brothers and sisters in Toledo, OH, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Stanley is also preceded in death by his daughter, Stanea Word and his son Deraythan Word; his sister, Mary Correa and his brother, Ralph Word.
