Shelia Hardin was born on June 4,1947 in Hodgenville, Kentucky to Estella Mooreman and Benjamin Johnson. She received her early education in Hodgenville before moving to Indianapolis, Indiana where she continued building her life and purpose.
Shelia gave her life to Christ after attending Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. While attending Friendship, she reconnected with an old friend, Reginald Hardin. The two became inseparable and later married on December 21, 1991. Together, they served the Lord as Deacon and Deaconess and built a beautiful life grounded in love, faith, and devotion. They were loving parental figures and grandparents to their blended family and were well-known pillars in their community.
Shelia established her professional career with Carrier, where she worked faithfully until retirement. She was a dedicated worker who took pride in providing for her family and contributing to her community.
Shelia enjoyed watching movies and playing cards — especially Scrabble. Shelia was a woman who gave of herself freely — loving, giving, encouraging, and serving with her whole heart. Her kindness, her laughter, her strength, and her devotion to God will forever live in the hearts of all who knew her.
Shelia Hardin departed this earthly life to be with her Heavenly Father on November 17, 2025 at the age of seventy-eight. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald Hardin; her mother, Estella Mooreman; her father, Benjamin Johnson; her grandson, Ronald Golden; her sister, Niecy Johnson; and her brother, Gary Johnson.
She leaves to celebrate her memory her four daughters, Vickie (Warren) Wilson, Raynetta Brashear, Charlene (Terrance) Williams, and Jozette Brashear; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Wanda James, Judith Warren, Viola Crawford, and Dorress Daniel; her brother, Larry Warren; and many extended family members, church family, and friends whose lives she touched through love, service, and unwavering faith.
