SHEILA MOORER Obituary

Ms. Shelia Yvonne Moorer, born on September 14, 1972, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She entered eternal rest on July 19, 2026, at the age of fifty-three surrounded by her loving family and friends. Shelia was the beloved daughter of Mrs. Natalie Hodges and the late Mr. Lee V. Moorer.

Shelia was a beacon of light and love to everyone who knew her. She was the life of every gathering and had a special gift for putting a smile on everyone's face. Her beautiful smile, contagious laughter, carefree spirit, and independent way of living will be deeply missed.

Shelia enjoyed cooking, eating, dancing, watching Lifetime movies and reality television, and spending time chatting with her family and friends. Shelia  was a proud graduate of Northwest High School and was educated in the Indianapolis, Indiana Public School district.

Throughout her career, Shelia  worked at Methodist Hospital and Amazon. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age, and her faith remained an important part of who she was. Shelia’s  life was a testament to her devotion to her family and friends.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved sons, Jalen Smith and Jovan Smith, who were the pride of her life; and one granddaughter, London Arminye Capri Smith. She is also lovingly remembered by her lifelong companion Larry Scott, who stood by her side through life's many adventures, sharing in her joys and challenges.

Her devoted mother, Natalie Hodges; sisters, Lisa Moorer and Tina Clay, will forever hold her memory dear in their hearts; her five aunts, Ethel Spivey, Joyce Walton, Shelia M., and Jackie G. of Ripley, Tennessee, Ann Holley Jetton of Indianapolis, Indiana; two uncles James Moorer of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Andy Tony Holley (Robin) of Providence, Rhode Island; her nephew, Antonio Clay, along with a host of family, friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins will continue to celebrate her life and legacy.

Though Shelia has left this earthly realm, her love and light will continue to illuminate the lives of those she touched. Her legacy of kindness and faith will forever guide her family and friends, who will cherish her memory and celebrate her life for generations to come.
