Samuel was married in matrimony to Julie (Roache) Rascoe on September 28th, 2019, after 40 plus years of love laughter and memories
Sam was baptized and a member of his family church, Greater Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church. He believed strongly in the power of prayer and the word of the Lord.
Samuel was an avid sports fan, he especially loved basketball and his skills on the basketball court were known far and wide, to where he picked up the name “Air Rascoe.” He played whenever he could until his knees said otherwise. He had a story he would tell everybody about him hitting his knees on the rim and that's why he had to have knee replacements. His favorite basketball team was the Chicago Bulls. Sam loved to be outdoors playing music and on the grill, of course if you knew Sam you knew he would get out in any weather and put some ribs and chicken on the grill. Sam loved having family together to enjoy complete meals that he and wife, Julie had prepared. Anytime you’d see him, he would always be telling a joke trying to make you laugh whether you wanted to or not.
Some of his favorite things to do outside were playing horseshoes & corn hole. He also loved sitting outside and enjoying a beer with some of his good friends Mr. Tony Smith, Kenny March and a host of other friends.
Sam was always willing to help his family and friends when he could. He was protective, loving, loyal and loved by so many people and respected everywhere he went.
Samuel E. Rascoe gained his wings enjoying the Lord on Saturday. February 28, 2026, at the age of 67.
