On November 10, 1977, God appointed Roy David Gibson, Sr. and Greta Vanessa Love Gibson with another bundle of joy by growing the family with Roy David Gibson Jr. in Indianapolis, Indiana. Roy Jr. was named after his father; but David is what he was known and called by family and close friends. He was the second of four children to this blessed union.
David’s education started at St. Peter Claver Center. He attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic School, Skiles Test elementary School, Belzer Middle School, and Lawrence Central High School. The family later relocated from the east side of Indianapolis to the west side and David attended and graduated from Pike High School. David was a life learner and it led him to take many classes at Ivy Tech College.
David was brought up with the family in the Mt Paran Missionary Baptist Church. Where the seed was planted through him attending Sunday Church School, Baptist Training Union, and in the Youth Department.
On September 21, 2023 the same day 4 years prior as his brother, Robert Douglas was called home, David answered the call from the Lord. Other family members that preceded him in death are his loving mother, Greta Vanessa Love Gibson, his father, Roy David Gibson Sr., his grandparents, Joseph Love, Fannie Love, Robert Gibson, and Janie Gibson.
David leaves behind to cherish his memories his sisters, Charmita Gibson and Courtni Gibson; nieces, Taianna, Destiny, Chalice, and Chami; nephews, Jalen, Chase, Chandler, and Davani; aunt, Rev. Angela Love of Woodbridge, Virginia; his uncle, Joseph D. Love, Jr. of Nashville, Tennessee; and a host of other family, and friends.
Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God.
