Robert Earl Williams Jr., affectionately known as RJ, was born on June 8, 2009, in Atlanta, Georgia, and transitioned on Saturday, January 3, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
RJ was born to Robert Earl Williams and lovingly embraced by Katania Williams (Harrison), who entered his life when he was three years old. He spent his early years between Atlanta, Georgia, and Goodman, Mississippi, before making Indianapolis, Indiana his home. From a young age, RJ was known for his loving heart and natural instinct to protect those he cared about.
RJ will be remembered for his loving spirit, protective nature, sharp sense of humor, and genuine love for knowledge and world events. He had a special way of helping others feel safe while making them laugh, always wanting the very best for everyone he encountered. RJ took great pride in the things that sparked his interest and passion. He approached life with determination and resilience, never allowing challenges to define or limit him. RJ did not know defeat—he was an overcomer who faced obstacles with courage, perseverance, and quiet strength, inspiring those around him through his journey.
RJ began his education at Day Early Learning Center and later attended George & Veronica Phalen Leadership Academy. He continued at Andrew J. Brown, where he participated in volleyball and track and field and successfully completed eighth grade. He began high school at Purdue Polytechnic High School in Broad Ripple, where he was a sophomore and a member of the wrestling team. For the past two years, RJ also trained at 10th Planet and Circle City Martial Arts, studying Mixed Martial Arts.
Outside of training, RJ enjoyed gaming, drawing, writing stories, and was a food connoisseur. RJ’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the love he gave freely, and the strength he displayed in the face of adversity. He will be remembered not only for what he accomplished, but for who he was—a young man whose kindness, resilience, and spirit left an unforgettable mark on all who knew him.
RJ was preceded in death by:
His great-grandparents, Mary Lee Singleton; LeRoy L. Harrison Jr. and Mary E. (Williams) Harrison; his grandparents, Billy L. Campbell, Martha Campbell (Singleton), and Robert Parks; his aunts, Bessie Williams and Isabella Vanarsdale (Parks); and his uncle, David Parks.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
