Robert Michael Clay was born on February 13, 1958, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the son of James Clay, Sr. and Rosalee Henry Clay.
Robert Michael Clay professed a belief in Christ. He was a member of Southern Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dennis Walker.
Robert Michael Clay completed his primary and secondary education in the Indianapolis Public School System. “Michael”, as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, was a Certified Electrician and worked for various contractors over the years. He was also employed in security details for various events throughout the city.
To his nieces and nephews, he was just “Unc Michael”. He was the uncle who always showed up whenever they called.
Michael was a true Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers fan. He loved his football and basketball.
Michael gained his wings on October 6, 2025, at the age of sixty-seven years of age. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Yolonda Jones, JoAnn Clay, Carolyn Hayes, and Marsha Clay; brother, James Clay, Jr.; nephew, Robert Miller, Sr.; great-niece, Jenifer Minor, and great-nephew, Gregory Minor, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories one aunt, Wilma Simmons; great-aunt, Brenda McCloud; nieces, Raina Jones, Lashona Miller, and Curtisha Johnson; nephew, Cleo Miller, IV, and a host of other relatives, and friends.
