PHYLLIS TAYLOR CALDWELL

Mrs. Phyllis J. Caldwell, daughter of Richard and Jane Taylor was on born July 14, 1929, in Muncie, Indiana. She accepted Jesus Christ in her life at an early age. Phyllis completed her education and then moved to New York to begin her career.

Phyllis was employed by Monroe County Department of Social Services in New York and retired after several years of service.  She moved back to Indianapolis and was employed by Indiana Bell Telephone Company. Phyllis later became a small business owner of Caldwell Industries. 

Phyllis was very civic-minded and was passionate about working in her community. She loved traveling to New York and Chicago to shop or shopping on her favorite channels, QVC and HSN.  Phyllis also enjoyed knitting in her spare time.

Mrs. Phyllis J. Caldwell finished her earthly assignment on May 15, 2022, at the age of 92 years old.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Jane Taylor; husband, Claude Caldwell; son, Gary Lee Caldwell; sisters, Betty Williams, Darlene Taylor; brothers, Richard, Ronald, and Duane Taylor.

Phyllis leaves to cherish her memory her loving granddaughter, Antoinette Treadwell; four great-grandchildren; Quavon Gardner, Emani Gardner, Sabrina Douthit, Damon Harris, Jr.; sister Carolyn Hubbard; sister-in-law, Janice Taylor of Charlotte, North Carolina and a host of family members and friends.

Petals of Her Life

As beautiful a rose to see,

Was her life she lived so gracefully

She made things precious by her touch

Her selfless love lives on in each of us.

The petals of her life fell one by one,

Each a gift of her heart till there were none.

Yet her radiance blooms once again

In fields of glory with no end.
