Mr. Norman McMiller, nicknamed at early childhood “Deac” because he viewed himself as a symbol to the people of God of their collective calling to serve; so that the whole church may better live out their spiritually of “Deac” therefore preached that his calling was to warn the people that the world was coming to an end, shortly.
“Deac” accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of nineteen years. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, here in Indianapolis, Indiana.
“Deac” received his education in the Indianapolis Public School System, having attended Crispus Attucks High School. He moved on to Ivy Tech Vocational College. Norman worked many jobs, such as Heating and Air Conditioning, Real Estate Sales Agent, in the automotive industry, and as an Insurance Underwriter. After all of that, he retired from United States Postal Service as a Supervisor, in 1999.
“Deac” was united in holy matrimony to Linda Susan Smith Dudley on September 21, 1992. He remained faithful for thirty-three years of matrimony .
“Deac” went to rest in the Bosom of his Heavenly Father on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 2:00 a.m. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank L. McMiller; mother, Flora Marie Locke; sister, Theresa R. John, and son, Kelvin McMiller.
Mr. Norman McMiller, “Deac”, leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife, Linda Susan Dudley McMiller; sons, Gregory McMiller, Norman Edward McMiller, Jr., and Anthony Jackson, and daughter, Theresa McMiller, all of Indianapolis; step-sons, Shazzan Colbert of Almotillo, Texas, and Allen Dudley of Birmingham, Alabama; step-daughter Luci Bryant of Birmingham; nephews, Donald Wayne Fuqua and Stanley Fuqua, of Indianapolis, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many cousins.
