Myrtle Lawrence was born on July 15, 1939, in Woodbury, Tennessee, and was the eldest of eight siblings. She loved her family and took pride in caring for those closest to her.
Early in her life, Myrtle worked at the United States Post Office, where she developed a strong work ethic that remained with her throughout her life. After relocating to New York, she became a business owner, reflecting her independence and entrepreneurial spirit.
Myrtle later returned to Indianapolis, where she opened an in-home daycare, caring for children as if they were her own. In her later years, she also became a property owner, overseeing her rental properties for many years.
Myrtle’s faith was reflected in her strength, compassion, and the way she lived each day, standing strong through every season of her life.
Myrtle Lawrence departed this earthly life on December 26, 2025, at the age of eighty-six. She will be missed by all of those who loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Eugene Stewart, Gregory Lawrence, and Jack Lawrence; her siblings, Robert Moore, and Glenda Moore; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
