MS. SHERRY MCFADDEN

Sherry Lynn McFadden was born October 13, 1956 in South Bend, Indiana to Alonzo and Irene (McKnight) Brazier. She attended Studebaker grade school and graduated from James Whitcomb Riley High School in 1975. Sherry was a fun-loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age and attended Faith Baptist Church in South Bend, Indiana under the leadership of Pastor George M. Joseph. This is where she became actively involved in youth ministry.

In the early 1950’s, Irene Brazier and Bonnie Lee McFadden, along with their husband's, became best friends while raising their children in the same community. Carl and Sherry became good childhood friends because of their parents bond, and even closer in the eighth grade. They later evolved into high school sweethearts and Carl was known as the love of her life.  She always referred to him as her “Honey”. They united in Holy Matrimony on April 1, 1978. From their union, they have three children, Carla, Carl Jr., and Carmen.

In 1986 the family moved from South Bend to Indianapolis, Indiana. In Indianapolis they attended Trinity Baptist Church, where Carl and Sherry served in the youth ministry for several years. They were dedicated to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Baltimore community.  Countless children gave their lives to Christ because of their commitment to God‘s Word. In 2000, Carl and Sherry joined Berean Bible Church and continued with their youth ministry. Teaching the Gospel never left Sherry‘s heart and she shared it with all who would hear. In addition her longstanding youth ministry, Sherry graduated from Ivy Tech with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development and worked for Indianapolis Public School for many years. She received a certificate for the completion of Theology studies at Faith Baptist Bible College (affiliated with Moody Bible Institute). She ended her working career at The Goddard Preschool.

Sherry Lynn McFadden departed this life on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 12:32 a.m., surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her parents and sibling, Ernestine Brazier.

Sherry leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Carl McFadden, Sr., children, Carla (Kyle) Maxwell, Carl McFadden Jr., and Carmen (Ryan) Cotham, grandchildren: Taylor and Ryland Cotham, Kennedy and London Maxwell, and Asia McFadden, brothers, Donald (Rhonda), Harold, (Margaret), Kevin, (Teresa), Eric, (Nuron), Keith (Diane), Anthony, Terry, and Craig Brazier; sisters, Maxine, Yjuania, Melanie, and Marlena Brazier all of South Bend, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends to cherish her memory.
