MS. JOAN COBBS Obituary

Joan Etta Williams Cobbs, Joan Etta Nash, “Jody” departed this earthly life.  She was a loving mother, grandparent, sister and cherished friend to many.  She was loved by many and she will be missed by all who knew him.

Joan Etta Williams Cobbs was born to John Willis Williams, Sr. and Mamye H. Johnson Williams on October 16, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Having also lived with her family in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, she received her primary and secondary in the Metropolitan School District of Ft. Wayne and the Indianapolis Public School System. Joan Etta Williams Cobbs was an ardent student who truly loved to learn.  She earned certificates and both undergraduate and graduate degrees in multiple areas of study, and she also completed numerous courses of study to become licensed as a professional in numerous fields of business and cosmetology.

Joan Etta Williams Cobbs avidly watched television, enjoying classic comedies, westerns and movies.  She was talented in multiple areas of arts and crafts and generously shared her works of art with those she loved. 

She accepted Christ as her Savior and attended churches of many various denominations in the cities in which she dwelled.

She was endowed with many talents and attributes. She had an eye for design and fashion, and a true sense of style.

The memory of Joan Etta Williams Cobbs memory will be cherished by her son, Axzrandra J. Cobbs, Jr.; grandson, King-Axzrandra L. Cobbs, III and siblings, John Willis Williams, Jr., Ida Williams, Michael Young, and Keith Williams.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tasco B. Williams, and sister, Gerenia Lavonne “Bonnie” Young Fountain.
