MS. CARRUTHA C. TICHENOR

Carrutha C. Tichenor was born on May 31, 1963. Most people know her by the name “Boo.” Boo was the youngest of three children, born to Mable and James Tichenor. Boo accepted Christ at an early age. Boo grew up Catholic, then as she transitioned into her adult life, she joined New Haven Baptist Church.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Boo received her education in the Indianapolis Public School system, graduating from Arsenal Tech High School, then went on to attend cosmetology school at Michael’s.

Boo had an impressive work ethic from the time she was a young woman. Boo was instilled with principles of hard work, strength, empathy, and kindness. Boo was a well-loved co-worker. Boo worked at Marsh, Roche Diagnostics, First Student as a bus monitor, and Brookside Park. She also enjoyed working with children and providing guidance for the youth.

Boo was a very family-oriented person. She enjoyed being with her family anytime she could. If there was a barbecue or family gathering, she was the one on the grill, grilling, which is what she loved to do. Boo was always the life of the party. Taking pictures, dancing, playing music, telling jokes, and playing games with the kids. She also was absolutely in love with her wardrobe. When it came to her style, you could not tell her anything. She always believed she was supposed to dress to impress.

Boo was called home on January 19, 2023. She leaves to cherish her memory, her one and only son, Ahmad turner; mother, Mable Tichenor; father, James Tichenor; uncle, Stephen Foreman; sister, Gayle Foreman; two brothers, Nathaniel Foreman and Kevin Tichenor, Sr.; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
