MS. BARNETTA MORELAND

Barnetta "Poopie" Moreland, entered this world on Friday, October 18, 1968, and departed this world on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the tender age of 56 years and 8 months. She was born the sixth child of Clarence E. and Helen J. Moreland's union.

Barnetta received her entire elementary education at Riverside School #44 and graduated from Northwest High School in 1986, where she was a member of the color guard in the marching band.

After graduating from high school, Barnetta joined the workforce, working at various companies for several years, including Ascension - Indiana, where she spent over 10 years as an HR Specialist. She received her PHR certification at Ivy Tech in 2021. Her most recent employment was at Capital Group as an Investment Customer Service Representative from August 2024 until her untimely passing.

Barnetta enjoyed reading, cooking exotic dishes, gardening, and traveling with her travel buddy Roman Holley. She was a firm believer in enjoying life and living it to its fullest.

Barnetta was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Katherine Moreland, Mary D. Luke, and Judge E.S. Whitnell, her father Clarence E. Moreland, her sister Brenda Moreland-Wilson, nephew Andrew Moreland, uncles Roy C. Johnson, Frederick Moreland, and James J. Smith, aunts Ivory D. McCoy, and Karrold Jackson.

Barnetta leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Helen J. Moreland; brothers, Clarence (Lemar) Moreland, Pastor Anthony (Lisa) Moreland, and James (Charmaign) Moreland; sisters, Sharon Moreland, Kathy Moreland, and Ivory (Gilbert) Avant, along with a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.

A special "Thank you" to Roman Holley for accompanying Barnetta on her travel adventures; she enjoyed every one of them.
