MR. VANDARIS TRACY, SR. Obituary

Vandaris O. Tracy, Sr. was born on December 31, 1973, to the proud parents, Larry J. Tracy and Marilyn L. Mayberry. The baby of six, he had one sister and four brothers. Vandaris completed his education in the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township at Ben Davis High School.

As a child growing up, Vandaris enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, dancing with his mother, listening to different genres of music, telling stories and jokes. He loved comedy, and sports, especially basketball with Michael Jordan being his favorite athlete who he tried to imitate. While at Ben Davis the love that he had for Basketball played out not only on the Basketball courts of the School gym but also on the Neighborhood courts of his community. If you wanted to find Vandaris, you could find him at the Basketball court long after the sun went down. Vandaris loved spending time with his son, Vandaris, Jr., who he referred to as “JR”, and his grandchildren.

As Vandaris got older there were different jobs opportunities he had accepted but only the one that stuck. He had a love for was construction, and he worked in construction for many years, up until December of 2021.

Vandaris confessed his faith publicly on October 5, 2006, at the age of 32. Vandaris soon began to study and apply the word of GOD by leading others to the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Vandaris enjoyed spreading hope to the hopeless, and ministering to the homeless and the forgotten. His smile would light up any room, and he knew no stranger. He will be dearly missed and thought of by his many loved ones and friends.

Vandaris went into the Eternity on December 30, 2021 and now joined with both of his parents, Larry J. Tracy and Marilyn L. Mayberry; his stepfather, Terrell Bailey; his brother, Keith L. Mayberry, and his granddaughter, Tatum D. Tracy.

He is survived and cherished by his wife, Beatrice Tracy; son, Vandaris Tracy, Jr. (Cheyenne); grandchildren, Alayah, Lexin, Jasper, five children and thirteen grandchildren with his wife Beatrice Tracy; his only sister, LaSonda Carter; brothers, Larry, Jr., Tyrone, and Tony Tracy; niece, China Ingram (Bobby); nephew, Reginald Ingram, a host of other nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts and a host of cousins.

Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God.  Matthew 5:8 (KJV)
