MR. TIP HURST JR.

Tip was born on January 4, 1937, in Cumberland Gap, Tennessee.  He was the son of the late Tipton Hurst, Sr. and Cora White Hurst.

Tip enlisted in the United States Air Force and served until being honorably discharged in 1958 and then obtained his G.E.D. He worked at Ford Motor Company, retiring after thirty-two years of employment.

Tip accepted Christ as his Savior many years ago and was a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church.  He was an avid reader and he considered himself a professional bowler, after scoring 300 on several games.

Tip joined and was a member of the Prince Hall Masonic Lodge in the Jurisdiction of Indiana for over 50 years, where he was elevated to Master Mason.

Tip Hurst Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 16, 2023, at the age of eighty-six years. Tip was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; two brothers; two sisters, and one daughter.

Tip is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Mitzi; sons, Michael Skates and William Rucker, Sr.; daughters, Cindy Smith, Debi Hurst, and Lee Ann Rucker; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie (John) Horner; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

For he will put his angels
