MR. TALIS CORNELL TERRY

Talas C. Terry, born on May 23, 1976, in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He lived his life with strength, determination, and a deep love for the people who knew him best. His passing came as a profound loss to his family and all who were blessed to share in his life.

Talas was a proud Indianapolis native and a man who understood the value of hard work, family, and faith. He was educated at Southport High School and went on to build a career as a construction contractor, a line of work that reflected his practical skills, steady hands, and commitment to getting the job done well. Through his work, he contributed to the building and strengthening of the community around him, leaving behind a legacy of effort and dedication. He was a Christian whose faith offered him guidance throughout his life.

Talas carried himself with a spirit that reflected perseverance and resilience, and he was known for the warmth he shared with those close to him. He enjoyed playing cards, playing basketball, and spending time with family and friends. These simple pleasures brought him joy and created lasting memories for those who spent time in his company.

Those who knew Talas will remember a man who valued connection and who found meaning in the company of others. He was the kind of person whose presence could be felt in a room, and whose memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones. His family and friends will remember his laughter, his loyalty, and the many moments shared together over the years.

Talas C. Terry departed this earthly life on June 18, 2026. He was preceded in death by his biological mother, Mary D. McClain.

He leaves to cherish his memories his adopted mother, Essie Terry, who remained an important part of his life; eight sisters, Rosemary Williams, Delois Johnson, Luebell Langster, Ella Evans, Velma Brown, Tracy Reed, Sherri Staten, and Cherry Staten; seven brothers, Jerry Williams, Cleve Williams, Jimmy Williams, the late Tommy Evens, Joseph Williams, Dewarn Braungh, and Wongie Williams. In addition, he is remembered by his adopted sisters and brothers, Angela Cole, Cassandra Shelby, Bill Taylor, Desmond Terry, Erica Terry, and Morris Terry.
