MRS. SERENA THOMPSON-MOORE Obituary

Serena Kaye Thompson –Moore

Prophetess and Overseer

Prophetess Serena Kaye Thompson-Moore was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 17, 1960.  She was the daughter of Lawrence and Thelma Stevens.  The family relocated to Indianapolis shortly after her birth. She was the 5th child of seven children.  From early childhood, Prophetess Serena was uniquely designed for God’s purpose. Being a deep thinker and inquisitive she kept secrets close to her heart.  Her early life experiences would later be a guidepost for serving God’s people.

Prophetess Serena accepted Christ at a young age.  She attended Second Moravian Church with her siblings under the leadership of Pastor Stanley Thomas.  As a young woman she and her family faithfully attended Temple #1 Church of The Living God, PGT under the leadership of Bishop Archie Swanson.  The entire family were dedicated members serving the Lord with gladness.  Serena served as a Nurse’s Aide and helped with church plays.  She never failed to pray for family, friends, or strangers nor spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Prophetess Serena inherited the gift of learning from her grandmother Eva Mae Reed and mother Thelma M.M. Reed Stevens.  She was a strong advocate for education and talked about owning a school.  She attended Indianapolis Public Schools, earned numerous certifications & accreditations plus graduated from Ivy Tech Community College with honors.  But Prophetess Serena’s true passion came to be reading, studying, preaching, and teaching the Word of God.  She was ON FIRE for the Lord and as His ambassador freely gave away hundreds of bibles and other resources to promote His Kingdom.

Prophetess Serena possessed grace & style.  She knew the exact time new clothes arrived in boutiques and department stores and looked forward to dressing in the latest style. Her fancy hairdos, nails, shoes, coats, and outfits kept one guessing as to what she’d wear to church, work, dinner, or special occasions.  And the cameras always captured her dazzling-glowing-pretty smile.

Prophetess Serena was married to military veteran Edward Moore.  They shared many happy days together.  In her younger years she married Robert Thompson, Sr.  Together they raised four beautiful children:  Elijah, Robert Jr., TeAuana, and Ryan.  She often talked about her children’s unique characteristics.  She’d say: “Elijah is the Researcher/Doctor…… Robert is the Entrepreneur/ Logistics Man…… TeAuana is the Organizer/Administrator……. Ryan is the Natural Born Musician.  He can pick up any instrument and play it without lessons.”

Prophetess Serena exhibited an impeccable work ethic holding various challenging positions; however, employment with the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center was her second heartbeat. She respected and loved her boss, judges, administrators, staff, clients, and every aspect of work.  Her work performance was second to none! Hired in March 2008 as a Youth Worker, Prophetess Serena’s stellar work performance earned her several promotions.  She was promoted to the positions of Youth Counselor, Quality Assurance Manager, Director of Staff and Youth, and Director of Accreditations.  In March 2021 Prophetess Serena was promoted to the esteemed position, Superintendent of the Marion County Detention Center.  Psalm 75:6-7 became her testimony about promotions.

Prophetess Serena was charged to release the gift of the Holy Spirit by teaching and equipping the Saints for the Kingdom of God.  Prophetess Serena currently served as Overseer of Divine Creations Ministries in Oak Grove, Kentucky since it was formed in 2006 by Pastor Curtis and Mechelle Glenn.  She later ordained them Apostle and Prophetess.  She traveled the       nation activating and releasing the prophetic voice of God providing extensive training to pastors and leaders in intercessory prayer, plus served as Pastor, Associate Pastor, or Assistant Pastor.  She was licensed with Christian International and a Certified   Chaplain with International Fellowship of Pastoral Counselors and Chaplains.  Her favorite scriptures included 1 John 5:14 and Joel 2:17. Take now your rest at home with Jesus Prophetess and Overseer Serena Kaye Thompson-Moore. “You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, YOU HAVE KEPT THE FAITH.” 2 Timothy 4:7 NIV
