Mrs. Seiko Uehara Oliver, daughter of the late Kodai and Mitsuko Uehara was born May 5, 1935 in Okinawa, Japan. Seiko attended school in the Okinawa school system. At the age of 90 she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at The Blended Church.
Seiko was joined into holy matrimony with Charles L. Oliver, a young US soldier stationed in Japan on May 27, 1955. She left her island home to follow her husband arriving by ship to Seattle, WA June 2, 1956 and then traveling on to what would be her lifelong home, Indianapolis, IN.
She was retired from the Indianapolis Convention Center after many years of faithful service. Seiko loved to garden and was family centered spending all of her time and energy caring for her family.
Sunday, July 26, 2026 Mrs. Seiko Uehara Oliver answered the Lord’s call and exchanged time for eternity. Her residence has been moved to that house of mansions, where she will have peace, joy, and contentment.
Seiko was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Oliver, her sons, Leon E. (Rhonda) Oliver and Anthony K. (Lydia) Oliver and brother Yasuo Nori Uehara. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted daughters, Mary Ann Stephenson, Alnetta R. (Charles) Horice, and Yvonne V. (Lawrence) Smith, her brothers Yasuo Uehara, Yasuo Shige Uehara and Yasuo Kazu Uehara, as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
