Patricia A. (Chandler) Evans was born to Rev. Felix Chandler, Sr. and Mae Sue Chandler, on April 17, 1958, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Patricia graduated from Lawrence Central High School in 1976. She earned an Associate Degree in Accounting from Ivy Tech State College.
Patricia was ordained as a Licensed Evangelist by Rev. Preston Crowe. She was a member of Northside New Era Church.
On September 24, 2003, she was united in marriage to Rev. Barry Evans. Her husband preceded her in death.
Patricia was such a beaming light in this world. Her infectious smile, sense of humor, and contagious laugh made her a one of a kind type of person. She never met a stranger. If she saw that you were down, she had the ability to pick your spirits up, and you completely forgot that you were ever sad.
Her family takes solace in the fact that she accepted Christ at a young age and walked with Him all her life. We are confident that she met Our Lord and Savior singing,
“I’m am free, Praise the Lord, I’m free. No longer bound,
no more chains holding me. My soul is resting,
it’s such a blessing. Praise the Lord! Hallelujah, I’m free.”
Patricia A. Evans went home to be with the Lord on October 18, 2021, at the age of 63 years 6 months and two days.
She is survived by her three children, Edward Chandler, Sr. of Indianapolis, Aaron Clark (Mercedes) of Indianapolis, and Christine Woods (Lekammrun) of Dallas; three siblings, Alton Chandler of Fort Wayne, IN, Delores Irving of Indianapolis, and Ophelia Yates (Lester) of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; best friend/niece, Annette Ward, of Indianapolis; and three generations of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
