Mary G. Thomas was born on August 2, 1950 to Willie Lee Bradley Sr. and Carrie Mae Bradley in Waverly, Tennessee. She was the second oldest of four children. She attended Waverly Central High School and graduated in 1968. She also played basketball which was one of her favorite sports.
Mary accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Waverly, Tennessee. When she moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1970, she became a member of Community Missionary Baptist Church and in her latter years adjoined herself to Unity Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.
She worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for many years before joining in Holy Matrimony to Dr. Willie C. Thomas Jr. in 1986 and then moved to Wichita, Kansas. She led the Lord’s church by her husband’s side as First Lady of Greater St. Mary MBC and after many years of service moved to Dayton, Ohio and served at The Grace Tabernacle MBC. In 2014, she decided to move back to Indianapolis, IN and with a servant’s heart, committed to the further works of the Kingdom by serving on the Mother’s Ministry of New Unity Church.
After going through several different ailments and severe medical conditions, Mary’s health started to decline, and she departed this life on April 12, 2025. She answered the call of her labor to reward; therefore, joining her parents and husband who preceded her.
Loved ones to cherish her memory are sisters, Deloris A. Woods, Patricia J. Hollowell (Milton); brother, Willie L. Bradley Jr. (Felicia), stepsons, Bishop Talmadge Thomas, Illya Thomas, Pastor Tegitra Thomas, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
