Her Story
Ivy Jean Phelps was born on July 13th, 1954, in Jackson, Tennessee. The family relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana.
Ivy attended School #42 and graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1972.
Ivy married the love of her life, James Michael Watson on December 31, 1981. The shared forty-two years of endless love.
Ivy worked at Forester and Messick Insurance and Prime Packing.
Ivy enjoyed life to the fullest. She also loved going to church and traveling with her husband, Michael.
Ivy departed this life on Monday, May, 8, 2023 at the age of sixty-eight years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Ivy and Ola Mae Phelps; sister, Edna Brown; nieces, Vanessa Nall and Vendetta Brown; nephews, Kenaz Maull, Dennis Brown and Ulysses Vantree.
Ivy leaves to cherish her memories her husband, James Michael Watson; sister, Brenda Reed, brother, Earnie Phelps (Deborah); nieces, Kineta Maull; nephew, Arnold Brown; stepson, Derrick Watson (LaTrace); stepdaughter, Karen Watson; step grandson, Derrick Watson, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Elder Gregory Watson (Janette) and Marshall Watson; sister-in-law Debbie Watson; and a host of cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and friends.
