MRS. ANNA LEE MCAFEE ANDERSON Obituary

Mrs. Anna Anderson was born June 28, 1951, and raised as Anna Lee McAfee, in Marion Kentucky. Anna and her three siblings, Elloweze (her twin sister), Linda Ruth (her older sister) and James Thomas (her younger brother), all grew up together in a loving house where Christ was taught and well represented by her mother and namesake, Anna Shelby. Her family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1963, and Indiana is where Anna resided ever since.

Anna spent most of her work career as a human resource specialist for the United States Postal Service, where she established great working relationships and memories with colleagues that later became dear friends even after retirement. The Post Office is where she also met the love of her life, Luther “Andy” Anderson. She married Andy almost 45 years ago and was blessed to gain four bonus children who she has also loved as her own and has established wonderful relationships with, over the years.

Anna was a very talented organist, and she loved praise and worship music. God has blessed her with several opportunities in her lifetime to serve as a church ministry’s organist. Some of the churches she's played for were Beulah Baptist, Little Zion, Indiana Baptist, Bridgeport and Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist Church.  Anna's hospitable heart extended to serving on the usher board and on the pantry team at Pleasant Union.

Anna's greatest gifts were the two lovely daughters that she birthed, Tiffany and Nicki. Anna has spent over 54 years molding, and teaching these two women up in the Lord. Anna cherished her relationship with her daughters, and she greatly valued the time she spent with all of her grand-children and great-grandchildren.

Anna was a bowler and a biker back in her day and up until her last days on earth, she loved playing Bid wiz weekly with her cherished “Golden Girls”.  Anna enjoyed dancing, singing and sharing many other activities with her family and dear friends.  She was affectionately known as “Baaab” by her two daughters, “Aunt Annie” by her niece and nephews, “G’anna” by her grandkids and great-grandkids, and she was dearly referred to as “My Girl” by her husband.

Anna departed this earthly life for her Heavenly Journey on Monday, August 25, 2025.  She was seventy-four years and 58 days of age.

Anna leaves to cherish her memory with her husband of 45 years, Luther E. Anderson; daughters, Tiffany Bussell (Rodney), and Nicki Arnold (Jeffrey); stepchildren, Braun Anderson, Brent Anderson, Rae Stratton and Derek Anderson; grandchildren, Jordan Boyd, Montayha Adams, Jeremiah Bussell, Kierra Nance, Pierre Nance, Anaiah Bussell and Montiana Nance; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Dakota, Jaxson, Marquise, Ginzo, Golden, Dominic and Valeria; brother, James Qualls, and host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Anna was preceded in death by her father, Wilber McAfee; her mother, Anna Shelby; her grandmother, Alverta White; her sister, Linda Qualls, and her twin sister, Elloweze Gray.
