MR. L. V. MOORE, JR. Obituary

A Brief Sketch of His Life

Mr. L.V. Moore Jr. was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, on November 18, 1949, to the Union of the late L.V. Moore Sr. and Alberta Tyson Moore-Blaine.  On Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., following a short illness at Community Hospital East, his Heavenly Father took him to Heaven for life eternally.

L.V. received the Lord as his personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at Durrett Avenue Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. He was very active in church while growing up and loved to worship with his father, L.V. Moore Sr.

L.V.  received his primary and secondary education in the Christian County School system. He continued his education at Paducah Technical College where he received a degree in Electronic Technology. He later was drafted into the U.S. Army, but ultimately made the decision and chose the Air Force where he served from 1971-1975 in a special service position.  Upon his honorary departure from the Air Force, he served 2 years in the Reserves.

L.V. moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1976, and later married, his wife, Carol Jeanette Proctor-Moore. He worked for the State of Indiana for forty-three years as an Electronic Technician. He also received certifications in Traffic Signal Electronics and Bench Repair. He retired in 2019.

L.V. was a Gentle Giant who was very easy going, kind, strong and hard to anger. He was a laid-back free spirit with a gentle soul. His energy was highly grounded with a meek feeling of contentment.  He loved music, hiking and tinkering with electronics.

L.V. was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his father L.V. Moore Sr., mother, Alberta Moore-Blaine, sister, Barbara Vance McCray and his brother, Tony Martin Moore.

Precious memories will always be embraced by his wife, Carol Moore; his daughters, Karen Smith and Tracie Parker of Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. L.V. also leaves behind two sisters, Bettye Jean (Foster) Stephens of Gary, Indiana and his devoted sister, Trudy Dianna Moore (Rod) White of Indianapolis, Indiana and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
