MR. JETHRO THOMPSON, JR.

Jethro “Jeff” Thompson, Jr. was granted his angel wings on January 11, 2022.  He spent his final days surrounded by family.

“Jeff” was born to the union of Juanita and Jethro Thompson, Sr. March 20, 1954.

“Jeff” attended and graduated high school from Chicago Public Schools. 

“Jeff” and Theresa were married October 31, 1987. They loved their children and all that knew them.

“Jeff” enjoyed listening to 60’s & 70’s music, watching football, playing checkers on his laptop, a good game of John Madden football on his PS4, and sharing a good laugh with family and friends. 

“Jeff” enjoyed life and lived the way he wanted. Throughout his life he developed his own philosophy called “FUCK IT”.  Jeff’s sense of humor and perspective could brighten anyone’s day. 

His humor was his coping mechanism for life’s challenges. Anyone that knew Jeff could expect to get cussed out at least once and would tell you his opinion whether you were ready to hear it or not. However, that was how he loved everyone, in his own way.

Nonetheless, “Jeff” was a god-fearing man and knew the Lord. He often admired nature and the value of its beauty, and always found meaning with the simple things in life. 

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Thompson; his children, Antoine “Shawn” Thompson, Tiffany I., Tanya, Katrice, Tiffanie D., Dennis, and Cia; his father, Jethro Thompson Sr.; his sisters, Diane (Sylvester), Brenda, Denise, and Pamela (Gregory Sr.); nieces and nephews, Juanda, Ritchie, Frank, Gregory Jr., Remy, Jabari, Catherine, Aaron, and Benita; and a host of grandnieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. 

He was a friend and a father figure to many!
