MR. JAMAL LEWIS Obituary

Jamal Lamar Lewis, “Roni”, was born on December 10, 2004, in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He was the son of Tiffany Lewis and John Stuckey.

Jamal was such a handsome baby boy that he was given the nickname “Roni” by his great- aunt, Tamika Lawrence.  She said, “He was the cutest Tender Roni that she had ever seen.”

Jamal accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age at Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church.  Jamal attended Fox Hill Elementary, where he met his teacher, Ms. Yencer, who had a major impact in his life.  He attended Westlane Middle School, where he played football.  He was a part of the Boy Scouts. He also played basketball at the YMCA.  He attended North Central High School, where he was a Senior.

Jamal was a dedicated worker to MCL Cafeteria.  He started as a dishwasher and was promoted to server.  Jamal was always excited about his checks and big tips he received.  His co-workers always acknowledged his willingness to go the extra mile.

Jamal was very clean cut and was very particular about the way he dressed.  Jamal had a love for music. He would walk around the house singing with his air pods.  When he took a shower, he would make sure that he always had a speaker with him so he could listen to his music.  At one time he even put the TV in the bathroom to listen to YouTube, because his speaker was broken.

Jamal grew up with a very tight knit family.  Jamal dearly loved his grandmother,  “Tracy”.  He enjoyed going shopping and hanging out at her house.  Jamal loved his mother's cooking. His     favorite dish was her baked spaghetti.  Jamal loved to help out in the kitchen.  He would stay up late to make sure that his turkey for Thanksgiving was perfect.  He loved his twin brothers so much.  When he walked in the door, he would pick them up immediately.  His brother Jaxon would always sit at his bedroom door waiting on him to come out.

Jamal departed this earthly life on January 8, 2022. He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Marian Judy Barnett.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Tiffany Lewis; father, John Stuckey; brothers, Jaxon and Jayce; grandmother, Tracy Lewis; great aunt; Tamika (Frank); great uncles, Delman and  Kenneth; aunties, Ashley (Steven) Blanche, Anye Lewis, Kyla Johnson; uncles, Michael Lewis, Jaylen Zachery; special cousins, Makynzi, Miley, Addison, and Adeyah; special aunts,  Brenda (Butch), Amanda Fryer, Iva “Jeannie” Craig (Robert); godparents, Sophia Carroll, Renee Gaither-Willams, and Mallory McClendon; special friend Tia, and a host of additional aunts, uncles, cousins, teachers, mentors, and friends.
