On this day, we celebrate the life of Aubrey Lenote Williams-Moten Jr. (affectionately known as AJ). He entered this world on December 3, 1993, promised to Crystal Moten and Aubrey Williams Sr in Memphis, TN.
In August of 1994, when he was just 8 months, his parents moved to Indianapolis Indiana, where he resided for the remainder of his life. His life was promised to God at eight years old. In his youth, he was heavily involved in the church community. He was on the junior usher board, in the children’s choir, and a member of the junior brotherhood.
During his childhood, AJ had a love for football. He played for the Washington Township Little League alongside his brother Al. They were the unstoppable duo. He was known as the beast because of how hard he tackled on the field. He continued his football career at West Lane Middle school, then again in High school at North central where he played until his sophomore year. In his adult years, he coached little league flag football for The Bad Boys team.
AJ had a love of music and Marvel comic movies that he could watch over and over. He also loved to dress up and go out. He was not afraid of having a good time and a good time was always had with him. He was the coolest, most outgoing person that had a way of drawing you in. He could sell sand to the desert, was just that smooth with his words.
At the age of nineteen, AJ joined parenthood with the love of his life Aliyah, they had a beautiful daughter named Amarri, who was AJ’s pride and joy. Then in 2020, they welcomed their second child and son, Amir, which made his heart grow twice as big. He adored his children and expressed it daily.
Aubrey gracefully and quietly returned to God on Friday, April 25, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father, Aubrey Williams Sr., His grandmother, Alice Williams, grandfather Artenchy Williams, grandfather, Robert George Moten, and cousin, Entrikita D. Moten.
His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his loving mother Crystal Moten of Indianapolis. His children Amarri Moten, Amir Moten, and longtime partner Aliyah Moss. His siblings Albert Williams of Indianapolis (Sister-in-law Kemyae Landers), Auviana Williams of Indianapolis (brother-in-law Domnic Mills), & Kirsten Kones of Memphis. His Grandmother Bessie Burton Edwards of Oklahoma. His nephew Damond Landers, and nieces Kamela Williams & Kehlani Williams. And a host of aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.
