MR. AIL SMITH, JR. Obituary

Ail Lee Smith, Jr. was the child of Ail Lee Smith, Sr. and  Helen R. Smith. He was born December 26, 1973, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Ail grew up in church with his family where they attended and was very involved, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at a very early age.

He attended Sanders and Maplewood Elementary, South Wayne Junior High School and graduated from Ben Davis High School in the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township.  Ail started right out of high school working in the family business, driving dump trucks with Stone and Rhodes and Eastside Trucking Companies. Given his business savvy and innovative thinking he decided to return to school where he received both his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with a minor in Human Resources and his Masters of  Business Admission from Indiana Wesleyan University.

From there he went into the corporate world for several years having had gainful employment at companies such as, AT&T, IndyGO, City of Indianapolis/DPW and DFAS.

Being the headstrong person that he was, he wanted to be his own boss again, so he started his own Transport Company Ail Lee Smith Jr. Trucking Company  LLC/T & A Transport where he was self-employed at the time of his passing. He was always looking into new innovative business ventures.

After working to build his legacy he enjoyed taking time out to go fishing, where he would spend endless hours with his sons, friends or sometimes just   himself. He also loved to ride his bike, study and watch movies. He was also very proud to be a 32nd degree Mason with Sumner A. Furniss Masonic Lodge #61. One of his greatest achievements in recent years was how he was able to take vacations in which he created long-lasting memories for everyone.

For all that knew “AJ”, as he was affectionately known, he had many roles to those he loved and came into contact with. Many knew him as father, mentor, confidant and friend. He was quick to take others under his wings.

Ail Lee Smith, Jr. met his nurturing and lovely wife, Twannay N.  Sublett, in 1993.They quickly became friends and decided to have a relationship in February of 1999, which led to marriage in 2004. Ail and Twannay spent over twenty-two years of their lives devoted to making sure they uplifted and encouraged one another while building their foundation with love by always    putting God first. Everything Ail did he made sure to do with his family in mind; that was his priority...family first!  He was the true King of his castle and treated his family like royalty, he spoiled us all!

Ail, Jr. transitioned from earth to glory on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his lovely mother, Helen R. Smith.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his devoted wife, Twannay N.  Smith; father, Ail Lee Smith, Sr.; mother-in-law, Sunceria Sublett (Willie); two sons,  Ail Lee Smith, III and Aildrese L. Smith, two daughters, Ailena M. Smith a.k.a., “Lee-Lee”, and Kiondra M. Smith, a.k.a., “Ki-Ki”; three siblings: brother, Ailex L. Smith, Sr.; and sisters, De’Manda L.
